Exporting a site Exporting a site is adapting its folder structure and other details to a particular Web server--the one you plan to upload it to. Exporting is distinct from uploading; you export to a local drive. You can export automatically, as part of the upload process, or as a separate step prior to uploading. In either case, you need to choose the options that will define the export. For information on exporting automatically, see Uploading and updating a site. Note: Few Web servers require that Adobe GoLive sites be exported. Consult your server administrator for information before beginning the export process. To select site export options: 1 Do one of the following: ![]() 2 Select Export Conditions options as follows: 3 Select Hierarchy options as follows: 4 Select Strip HTML Code options as follows: 5 Select Show Options Dialog if you want to review these options at the time of export. 6 Click OK. To export a site to a local drive: 1 Open the site. 2 Choose Site > Explorer > Export Site (Windows) or Site > Finder > Export Site (Mac OS). 3 If the Export Site Options dialog box is displayed, choose or review the options and click Export. 4 Specify a location on a local drive for the exported root folder of the site. 5 Click Save. 6 Click Yes or No. Clicking Yes displays information about the export: the files exported, the files not exported and the reasons they weren't exported, and the export options used. To upload a site you have exported to a local drive: Drag the exported root folder or its contents to its destination folder in the FTP Browser window. (For information, see Transferring files with the FTP Browser.) You can't use one of the Upload commands on the Site > FTP Server submenu or the equivalent button on the toolbar for this operation.
